Traflic Operations Analysis <br /> <br />Analysis was completed for each of the No-Build scenarios tot' both the A.M. and P.M. <br />peak hours. Analysis was aIso completed! for the Build scenariO. The ana.Iysis was <br />performed ·using the methodology of'the 2000 Highway Capacity Manual through. <br />SYNCHRO, a traffic analysis software progam by TraffiC:wa'ml ResUtts of the analysi:s <br />are displayed as measures of effectiveness. Measures of effeet£veness display <br />quantitatiYe information about the performance of an- intersection or net~,orI¢ of <br />intersections. The primary measures that ave used in this study are level. 0-f sera:ice and <br />delay. <br /> <br />Level of Service <br /> <br />The operational analysis results·are descdbdd as a;Le'?¢i of Service (LOS):ran~ng 'from <br />A to F and these letters serve to describe a:range of:operating-cond~ii0ns' for different <br />types of hcilities. Levels of Service are calculated' based on, the. 200OHighway Capagity <br />Manual, which defines the level of service, based on control delay; For unsignatized <br />intersections, control delay is the delay experienced by vehictes slOWing down for a-;.st°p <br />sign, the wait time at the stop sign, and the time for the vehicle-to speed up and move into <br />traffic. Level of service D ts commonly taken as an acceptable design year LOS. The <br />level o f service and its associated {ntersecfion delay for a stop-controlled: inters¢c.tion is <br />presented below.
