CONSIDER ACQUISION OF CERTAIN TAX FORFIET LANDS
By: Steven J. Jankowski, City Engineer

CASE'

Background:

The City is notified periodically of the availability of tax forfeit properties which are
available to be acquired by the cities within their corporate boundaries for public purpose.
Attached is a letter which accompanies a resolution by Anoka County identifying such
lands within the County. One such property is located within the City of Ramsey. This
property is located on the northern boundary of the City adjacent to Burns Township. I
have attached both the half section map illustrating the parcel along with an aerial photo
of the property. It appears to be high land immediately west of a common driveway that
services three properties.

Recommendation:

Staff recommends not applying to acquire this property as there is no apparent public
purpose.

Action:

Motion to recommend to City Council that this property not be
acquired as there is no apparent public purpose for this property.

Reviewed By:
Director of Public Works/Fire Chief
Assistant Public Works Director/Principal Engineer
Public Works Streets Supervisor
City Attorney

PW: 05/17/05
