Commissioner Brauer asked if they could move this to the City Council with the note that public <br />input and City Council approval has to be part of the adoption of the official wetland map. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt stated that when the ordinance applies and what the prohibitions are for <br />maintenance need to be addressed, and with those caveats he could make a recommendation to <br />the City Council. <br /> <br />Mr. [[unt asked if he has a 50-foot setback from the wetlands, would this increase that setback. <br /> <br />Zoning and Recycling Coordinator Anderson indicated that in the current draft, it would not; the <br />setback and buffer would be one and the same. <br /> <br />Mr. I lunt stated he has a map from 1985 that defines his wetlands, which has been increased to <br />22 acres. 11e indicated he asked the DNR what he can do on that land, and they said he could <br />mow it as long as he was not changing the water drainage. He asked if that would change. <br /> <br />Zoning and Recycling Coordinator Anderson stated it would not change without a trigger. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Brauer, seconded by Commissioner Johnson~ to recommend that the <br />City Council adopt the proposed wetland buffer ordinance with the following inclusions: <br /> 1. Thc wetland delineation map must be approved by the City Council following a public <br /> hearing. <br /> 2. Conditions when the ordinance is triggered should be spelled out in 9.26.05. <br /> 3. Responsibilities for property owners concerning the maintenance of buffers must be clear <br /> ant[ thorough. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Brauer, Johnson, Levine, <br />Shepherd, and Van Scoy. Voting No: None.
