CC Regular Session 5.5. <br />Meeting Date: 02/08/2021 <br />By: Katie Schmidt, Administrative Services <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Adopt Resolution #21-037 to Hire a Public Works Parks Maintenance Worker <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The purpose of this case is for the City Council to authorize hiring a full-time Public Works Parks Maintenance <br />Worker. <br />As part of the 2021 budgeting process, the City Council approved a new full-time Public Works Parks Maintenance <br />Worker to be added to the Parks Division. With this new position, the City will have five Parks Maintenance <br />Workers. The Park Maintenance Worker position is responsible for providing general maintenance of city -owned <br />parks and trail systems. Responsibilities include all aspects of park maintenance, construction of new facilities and <br />the operation of equipment while working in a variety of weather conditions. The position will also be involved in <br />snow plowing of public streets, trails and walks. <br />Staff conducted an external recruitment process which included first interviews and second interviews. Mr. Dane <br />Jessen was selected as the top candidate. Mr. Jessen successfully completed the City's background checks and <br />pre -employment testing process. The City extended a contingent job offer pending City Council approval.
