Councihnember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #05-06- <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION IDENTIFYING FINDINGS, APPROVING A COMPRHENSIVE PLAN <br />AMENDMENT TO CHANGE A LAND USE DESIGNATION FROM LOW- AND MEDIUM- <br />DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO MIXED USE, AND AUTHORIZING CITY STAFF TO <br />SUBiVlIT AN APPLICATION TO THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL FOR AN <br />AMENDMENT TO THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on May 13, 2005, the City of Ramsey received an appli.cation from Ramsey <br />Town Center, LLC (the "Property Owner") requesting an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan to <br />change the future land use designation from Low- and Medium-Density Residential for the following <br />legally described property: <br /> <br />Outlots A, B, C, D, and E, Ramsey Town Center Addition, Anoka County, Minnesota. <br /> <br />(The Subject Property) <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan approved in 2001 shows the Subject Property <br />designated land use as Low- and Medium-Density Residential; arid <br /> <br /> WIIEREAS, the property owners are requesting that the Subject Property desi=cmated land use <br />be changed to Mixed Use, to complement the remainder'of the Town Center site; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the comprehensive plan amendment request meets the criteria established in the <br />Interim Policy fbr Proposed Land Use Changes adopted by the Ramsey City Council on April 26, <br />2005; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey Planning Commission met on June 2, 2005, conducted a public <br />hearing, and recommended that the Ramsey City Council approve the Property Owner's request for <br />an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, a~ follows: <br /> <br />i) That thc Ramsey City Council hereby approves the request for a land use designation change of <br /> the Subject Property from Low- and Medium-Density Residential to Mixed Use, <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes City Staff to submit the necessary <br />documentation to Metropolitan Council for an amendment to the 2001 Comprehensive Plan to <br />change the land use designation to Mixed Use. <br /> <br />3) That this land use change shall become effectivedoncurrent with the City's receipt of notification <br /> o f approval from Metropolitan Council. <br /> <br />The mot/on for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />-243- <br /> <br /> <br />
