<br />Commissioner Anderson nay <br />Commissioner Peters aye <br />Commissioner Gengler aye <br />Commissioner VanScoy aye <br />Chairperson Bauer aye <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />6.03: Public Hearing: Consider Ordinance #21-02 Amending City Code Section 117-148 <br />Entitled Mississippi River Corridor Critical Area <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br /> <br />Chairperson Bauer called the public hearing to order at 8:06 p.m. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Deputy City Administrator Gladhill presented the staff report stating that staff recommends <br />adoption of the ordinance. <br /> <br />Councilmember Musgrove asked if staff has worked with other cities in this area and how those <br />cities are adjusting to the changes. <br /> <br />Deputy City Administrator Gladhill noted that there were two attempts at rule making, noting that <br />the first did not go well and the DNR took a step back and reevaluated. He stated that the second <br />attempt was much more successful with community input. He stated that staff worked extensively <br />with communities on the upper pool of the Coon Rapids Dam (Anoka, Dayton, Brooklyn Park and <br />Coon Rapids). He stated that while there was frustration in the beginning, throughout the process <br />there was improvement.
