Parks and Recreation Events and Updates: <br />• Virtual Adult Art Classes <br />o Ever wanted to learn to draw, but didn't know where to start? Or maybe brush up <br />on your painting skills? Join us with the Rumriver Art Center for new adult art <br />classes! <br />o Classes are $7.50 for an hour and a half session where you will be taken through <br />step-by-step to create your very own masterpiece. No experience is necessary! <br />Cost includes supplies for the project. Join for one session, or join for all! Class <br />schedule as follows: <br />• Silhouette sunset watercolor painting Tuesday, March 16 at 6:00 pm <br />• Snowy owl drawing Saturday, March 20, at 10:00 am <br />• Water lilies watercolor painting Saturday, April 17 at 10:00 am <br />• Close up flower drawing, Tuesday, April 27 at 6:00 pm <br />• Snowshoeing in the Parks <br />o The rescheduled Snowshoeing in the Parks will take place this Saturday! <br />Participants will have the opportunity to get off trail, enjoy the warmer weather, <br />and explore some of Ramsey's beautiful park scenery. <br />o The March session still has some openings, registration is required for both as <br />space is limited. <br />• Monarch Butterfly Series: Monarch Butterflies 101: MN's Beloved Insect <br />o The First session in the Monarch Butterfly Series, Monarch Butterflies 101: MN's <br />Beloved Insect, will take place next week on March 2 at 6:30 pm and on <br />Saturday, March 6 at 11:00 am. <br />o Experts from the Monarch Joint Venture will share amazing facts about the <br />monarch butterfly - from egg to migration, learn how a butterfly gets its wings <br />and completes one of the largest migrations on the planet. Come away with some <br />simple tips of how you can help monarch butterflies at home. <br />o Later events in the series include, "Plant your own Monarch Garden" and <br />"Monarchs, Community Science, and YOU!" These events will send you home <br />with plants to create your own pollinator garden fit for butterfly royalty, and even <br />contribute to science from your very own back yard through citizen science <br />initiatives! <br />o It is recommended to participate in one of the virtual Monarch Butterflies 101 <br />session prior to the other sessions.
