CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA Thc Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at the Ramsey Fire Station Number I, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Mayor Thomas Gamec Councilmember Todd Cook Councilmember David Elvig Councilmember David Jeffrey Councilmember Mary Jo Olson Councilmember A1 Pearson Councilmember Sarah Strommen Also Present: City Administrator James E. Norman Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler Assistant Director of Public Works Brian Olson Civil Engineer II Linton CALL TO ORDER Mayor Gamec called the City Council Work Session to order at 6:04 p.m. APPROVE AGENDA "[Pile agenda was approved as submitted. COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION l) Water Treatment Facility Schedule & Development Civil Engineer II Linton indicated last week the City received approval for Well Nos. 7 and 8. Thc next major item is the water treatment plant in the CIP for 2007. The comprehensive water study also identified a need for a water treatment plant at about the same timeframe. Staff would like to discuss with the Council the Drinking Water Revolving Loan Fund that is available for maintenance and upgrade of water treatment facilities. Legislative approval is needed from the Mayor and Council for the City to get on this list. The deadline for submittal for the project priority list is May 20th, and the next step would be to submit for the intended uses list. He indicated Ramsey is in a favorable position and should be highly ranked on the priority list. The cost of the water treatment plant is estimated at 18 million dollars.
