CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Thc Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, April 26, 2005, <br />at the Ramsey Fire Station Number I, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Todd Cook <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br />Councilmember A1 Pearson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Assistant Director of Public Works Brian Olson <br />Civil Engineer II Linton <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the City Council Work Session to order at 6:04 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />"[Pile agenda was approved as submitted. <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />l) Water Treatment Facility Schedule & Development <br /> <br />Civil Engineer II Linton indicated last week the City received approval for Well Nos. 7 and 8. <br />Thc next major item is the water treatment plant in the CIP for 2007. The comprehensive water <br />study also identified a need for a water treatment plant at about the same timeframe. Staff would <br />like to discuss with the Council the Drinking Water Revolving Loan Fund that is available for <br />maintenance and upgrade of water treatment facilities. Legislative approval is needed from the <br />Mayor and Council for the City to get on this list. The deadline for submittal for the project <br />priority list is May 20th, and the next step would be to submit for the intended uses list. He <br />indicated Ramsey is in a favorable position and should be highly ranked on the priority list. The <br />cost of the water treatment plant is estimated at 18 million dollars.
