Councilmember Specht introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLiTION #20-121 <br />RESOLUTION AMENDING THE NAME OF RAMSEY CENTRAL PARK TO <br />FORMALLY BE KNOWN AS `LORAL I ARMSTRONG DELANY CENTRAL PARK' <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Ramsey continues to support the development <br />of recreation and public facilities for the betterment of the community and enhancements to the <br />quality of life for all residents; and <br />WHEREAS, the City desires to appropriately name all park facilities in a manner befitting <br />the resource and value to the community; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey, has adopted a Public Facility Naming Policy within <br />Resolution #20-120; and <br />WHEREAS, that policy may include, park names reflecting historical significance, original <br />landowners, or those reflecting important contributions of local, state, national or international <br />significance; and <br />WHEREAS, Loral I Armstrong Delany embodies these attributes above, is a distinguished <br />and respected pillar of the community; and <br />WHEREAS, Loral I has also made innumerable contributions to shooting sports and <br />recreation locally, as well as bolstering economic development in myriad ways in Ramsey; and <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COT..NCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1 ) That Ramsey's flagship park on Armstrong Boulevard shall hereby be forever known as, <br />LORAL I ARMSTRONG DELANY CENTRAL PARK. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Musgrove, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor LeTourneau <br />Councilmember Specht <br />Councilmember Musgrove <br />Councilmember Heinrich <br />Councilmember Kuzma <br />Councilmember Menth <br />Councilmember Riley <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />
