Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #21-056 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR PROJECT 2021 <br />CRACK SEAL IMPROVEMENTS, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #21-06 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey can most cost-effectively maximize the life of the <br />bituminous pavement on public streets by sealing cracks on an annual basis; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey adopted a budget for 2021 including $200,000 to crack <br />seal the bituminous pavement on numerous public street segments in support of the City's <br />Pavement Management Program; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to adoption of Resolution #21-023 on January 26, 2021, the City <br />Council approved final plans and specifications as prepared by the City Engineer and authorized <br />advertisements for bids said improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, bids were advertised in the Anoka Union Herald, Finance and Commerce on <br />January 29, and February 5th, 2021; and <br />WHEREAS seven (7) bids were received, opened, and tabulated on March 2, 2021, and <br />the following bids were found to comply with the approved plans and specifications and <br />advertisements for bids, and <br />CONTRACTOR <br />TOTAL BID <br />Northwest Asphalt & Maintenance <br />$110,428.07 <br />MP Asphalt Maintenance <br />$125,661.74 <br />KAMCO Inc. <br />$126,728.67 <br />Allied Blacktop Company <br />$159,505.83 <br />American Pavement Solutions Inc. <br />$174,638.18 <br />Fahrner Asphalt Sealers, LLC <br />$181,249.22 <br />Asphalt Surface Technologies Corp. <br />$196,708.24 <br />WHEREAS, the bid of Northwest Asphalt & Maintenance of Thief River Falls, <br />Minnesota, in the amount of $110,428.07 for the total bid for construction of the <br />improvements in accordance with the approved plans and specifications and <br />advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible bidder and their bid shall be and hereby <br />is accepted. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract <br />with said bidder for the construction of said improvements for and on behalf of the City of <br />
