CC Regular Session 5, 7, <br />Meeting Date: 03/09/2021 <br />By: Brian McCann, Community <br />Development <br />Information <br />Title <br />Adopt Resolution #21-049 Approving Abatement of 5420 142nd Ave NW (Case of Anna and Pytor Vlasyuk) <br />Purpose/Background: <br />Planning is seeking authorization to abate the items in violation of City Code at 5420 142nd Ave NW. The Subject <br />Property has exceeded the number of allowed vehicles regulated by Section 117-355, and there are other public <br />nuisance items in violation of Chapter 30 of City Code in relation to construction materials, and refuse. <br />Notification: <br />No notification is required. <br />Observations/Alternatives: <br />Summary: <br />• There have been at least 6 code enforcement cases on the Subject Property since 2008 with multiple <br />violations per case <br />• Complaint was received about the property on February 12, 2020 regarding number of vehicles and junk on <br />the property. <br />• The case was forwarded to Community Development Department from the Police Department on November <br />18, 2020. <br />• An initial letter of contact was sent to the property on December 1, 2020. <br />• A first notice of violation for off-street parking and refuse was sent on December 18, 2020. <br />• A second notice of violation for off-street parking and refuse was sent on January 19, 2021. An <br />administrative citation of $75 was included with the letter. <br />• City Staff received payment for the administrative citation on February 12, 2020. No further contact has <br />been established regarding the condition of the Subject Property. <br />Funding Source: <br />Staff handles all Code Enforcement cases as part of their regular duties. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends motion to adopt Resolution #21-049 approving an abatement of 5420 142nd Ave NW to remove <br />public nuisance items including tires, construction materials, boxes, and vehicles until six (6) vehicles remain on <br />the property.
