Finance Officer Lund reviewed the 2002 budget requests for Elections, Finance, Assessing, and <br />Legal Services. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik reviewed the 2002 Planning and Zoning budget <br />requests, which includes adding the position of an Associate Planner. <br /> <br />Finance Officer Lund reviewed the 2002 budget requests for Data Processing and General <br />Government Buildings. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that he did not see any funding for building structure and <br />repair to correct the existing problems at City Hall. It was his understanding that there were <br />fumes entering the downstairs making it unusable. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Moore-Sykes replied that the architect and project managers the <br />City hired are currently working on costs to repair the existing building and will be before the <br />Council on September 18, 2001. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson inquired as to where the funds would come from to make the <br />necessary repairs. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Moore-Sykes replied that she was not sure until they get direction <br />from the Council on how they want to proceed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen inquired if there were any preliminary numbers on the cost to repair <br />the existing building. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Moore-Sykes replied that very preliminary numbers are $75,000 to <br />$100,000 to apply some of the "Band-Aids" to the building. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen inquired as to where would the budget be cut or rearranged if they <br />are to spend $100,000 on the existing City Hall. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec requested that the Finance Officer review the options. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman reviewed the Expenditure Reserve account. <br /> <br />The Council discussed the $7,226 in debt services from the Haubrich Addition and requested that <br />information be made public and brought back to a future Finance Committee meeting explaining <br />the debt. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman requested that the Council go into an off camera meeting to discuss <br />personnel issues. <br /> <br />City Council/August 2~, 2001 <br /> Page 6 of 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
