PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Thc Ramsey Planning Commission conducted a regular meeting on Thursday, June 2, 2005, at <br />thc Ramscy Fire Station # 1, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Commissioner <br />Commissioner <br />Commissioner <br />Commissioner <br />Commissioner <br />Commissioner <br /> <br />Ralph Brauer <br />Robert Johnson <br />Gary Levine <br />Deborah Shepherd <br />Gary Van Scoy <br />Eric Watson <br /> <br />Chairperson Michael Nixt <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Associate Planner Amy Geisler <br />Assistant Community Deve!opment Director Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Vice Chairperson Johnson called the regular meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Ben Deemer, 14501 Sunfish Lake Boulevard, indicated Assistant Community Development <br />Director Frolik is looking for some information for him about computing density for R-2 zoning. <br />l-lc indicated he has always believed he had a right to put eight units on the property acrOss from <br />l~ord of Life church, but something has changed since 2001 and now he will have to subtract the <br />road right-of-way from the gross density. He Stated this issue is causing a hardship in getting the <br />property sold. <br /> <br />Assistant Community Development Director Frolik advised that she and Community <br />Development Director Trudgeon met with Mr. Deemer, and confirmed he does need a variance. <br />She stated the property is zoned for up to seven units an acre. She indicated he is just shy of <br />meeting the requirements for eight units, which has been .explained to him. She stated he will <br />need a variance, but first will need a site plan to show the layout with eight units. <br /> <br />X/ice Chairperson Johnson noted the Planning Commission could hear the case at the June 23rd <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Assistant Community Development Director Frolik stated Mr. Deemer would need to get his <br />application in as soon as possible to meet that meeting date. <br /> <br />Planning Commission/June 2, 2005 <br /> Page 1 of 22 <br /> <br />79 <br /> <br /> <br />
