City Engineer Jankowski stated in 1998 they did planning on Highway 47 so they know what <br />sections are to be signalized, and how it will look. He indicated it is just a matter, of getting the <br />traf'fic to warrant going to the next level, and unfortunatelythe traffic has to happen first. <br /> <br />Commissioner Brauer stated on the old Comprehensive Plan he noticed discussions of more <br />cast/west streets so there are more options to get to Highway 10. He asked what the timeframe is <br />for that. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated the extension of 167th is a priority, and is part of a five-year CIP. <br /> <br />Commissioner Brauer indicated the other comment he had is that when they started doing work <br />on the other side of Highway 7, it routed traffic to Ramsey's side. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski indicated this year the County is doing a project on 116 and the State is <br />doing a project on l 16, however they are being staggered. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Brauer, seconded by Commissioner Levine to close the public hearing <br />at 8:46 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Assistant Chairperson Johnson, Commissioners Brauer, Levine, <br />Shepherd, Van Scoy, and Watson. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairperson Nixt. <br /> <br />Co~nmission Business <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Van Scoy, seconded by Commissioner Shepherd, to recommend that <br />City Council adopt the resolution approving the request and authorizing staff to submit the <br />Comprehensive Plan Amendment to Metropolitan Council. <br /> <br />Commissioner Brauer stated that the last time the Planning Commission looked at this he <br />commented that it is a good early case. He indicated it meets so many of the conditions with <br />little variance, and can become a template for other cases. <br /> <br />Commissioner Van Scoy agreed, indicating it does not try to maximize the density. <br /> <br />Motion Carried.
