Further discussion: Mayor Pro Tem Elvig reiterated for staff to put forth an effort to get this <br />resolved as quickly as it can be. Councilmember Pearson asked if the appraisal was in line with <br />the fight-of-way acquisitions that have been conducted. Assistant Public Works Director Olson <br />explained there is a very small sliver of land along the roadway that is high; everything else is on <br />the tkinge of the wetland that has been created by the ditch. City Attorney Goodrich stated the <br />appraisals will be reviewed to be sure they are in line. Public Works Director Kapler suggested <br />something be done about the property owner's legal fees, as the property owner was waiting for a <br />counter offer and the Council wants to do this on a friendly manner. City Attorney Goodrich <br />replied that is a part of the negotiation.. <br /> <br />Motion carried, Voting Yes: Mayor Pro Tern Elvig, Councilmembers Cook, Jeffrey, Olson, <br />Pearson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: Mayor Gamec. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />1 ) Staff Input <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman requested the addition of a special Council meeting and work session <br />scheduled for Tuesday, May 31, 2005. He suggested the work.session begin at 5:00 p.m. The <br />consensus of the Council was to schedule a special Cotincil meeting and work session to begin at <br />5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2005. <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson stated the special Council meeting on the May 31st will <br />include three consent agenda items on partial payments for Town Center construction projects. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Kapler announced the Lions Community Picnic on June 4th at Central <br />Park. <br /> <br />2) Council Input <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tern Elvig announced there will be a Red Cross Blood Drive on Friday, May 27m at <br />Fire Station 1. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Jeffrey, seconded by Councilmember.
