Mayor Gamec noted the Anoka County elected officials meeting is scheduled for June 29th at <br />5:00 p.m. at Majestic Oaks. <br /> <br />The consensus of the Council was that the Board of Appeals interviews will remain scheduled <br />for June 29th at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Case #19: Report from Public Works <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />Discuss Feasibility Study for St. Francis BouleVard Frontage Road Improvement <br />Project #05-24 with Project Property Owners <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski reviewed that as a result of concerns expressed by Mr. Greg Bolier, one. <br />of the three property owners along the St. Francis Boulevard frontage road, the public hearing on <br />this project, which was opened at the May 10, 2005 City Council meeting was not.adjourned. <br />All three of the property owners were invited to the meeting to discuss their concerns with the <br />project. Mr. Greg Bolier who was in attendance at the meeting indicated that he was very. <br />concerned about the impact that the widened roadway would have on the landscaping along the <br />front of these properties, which provide considerable screening from TH 47. He also appealed to <br />the committee to review the cost sharing proposed for the project. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski advised staff agreed that 'this was~, an extremely'uniqUe situation <br />considering the City's need for a trail, the fact that this was a dead end street, and that only three <br />property owners are available to share in'financing the entire roadway. Staff felt these unique <br />circumstances would allow for the consideration of a 28 foot paved width, with the easternmost <br />eight feet dedicated for trail use. The Committee concurred and directed that the feasibility study <br />be revised to identify the costs associated with the' trail, the roadway and the cul-de-sac. The <br />City Council could then consider additional funding participation when the public hearing is <br />continued on June 28, 2005. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Public Works Committee for Case No. 1 and that the .feasibility study be <br />revised to identify the costs associated with the trail,-the roadway and the cul-de-sac. The City <br />Council could then consider additional' funding participation 'when the public hearing is <br />continued on June 28, 2005. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cook, Olson, Elvig, Jeffrey, <br />Pearson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />2) Review Placement of Chevrons at the Corner of 169th Avenue and Neon Street <br /> <br />Councihnember Elvig reviewed that last fall the City approved the posting of a series of chevron <br />warning markers at the comer of 169th Avenue-and Neon Street. This posting was the result of a <br />request by the resident at this corner of 5866 169th Avenue to remedy the problem of having <br />vehicles slide off the roadway and into his yard. Subsequent to the placement of these chevrons <br />there was a complaint regarding the aesthetics of these warning devices by Mr. Scott <br />Baumgartner who resides at 5850 169th Avenue, which is immediately east of the corner <br /> <br />City Council / June 14, 2005 <br /> Page 25 of 29 <br /> <br />P81 <br /> <br /> <br />
