CITY OF RAMSEY <br />invites applications for the position of: <br />Building Inspector <br />SALARY: <br />$32.13 - $35.35 Hourly <br />OPENING DATE: 01/29/21 <br />CLOSING DATE: 02/21/21 11:59 PM <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: <br />The primary objective of this position is to assist the Building Official in ensuring that all new and <br />existing residential and commercial/industrial development in the City complies with all <br />applicable portions of the Minnesota Building Codes and applicable City Codes. <br />The 2021 salary range for this position is: Step 1 - .1 /hour through Step 6 - 40.1 /hour <br />This is a full-time forty 4 hours per week position <br />**This is an AFSCME union position** <br />NOTE: Resumes must be uploaded to your application materials <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: <br />Minimum qualifications must include the following: <br />• Must be at least 18 years of age <br />• Must have a high school diploma or GED <br />• Must have a valid Minnesota driver's license in good standing <br />• Must have at least one (1) year of building inspections experience or two (2) years of <br />building construction experience <br />• Must have a basic knowledge of building construction and requirements <br />• Must have basic Microsoft Office knowledge and skills <br />Desired Qualifications: <br />• Certification as a Building Official or Building Official Limited by the Minnesota Department <br />of Labor & Industry <br />• Certification as a SSTS Inspector by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency <br />• Graduate from an accredited technical school, and/or college or university in building <br />inspection technology, structural engineering or architecture <br />• Experience with permitting software such as - Permit Information Management Software <br />(PIMS) and ProjectDox <br />ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: <br />
