CC Regular Session 7.3. <br />Meeting Date: 03/23/2021 <br />By: Tim Gladhill, Community Development <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Consider Response Related to Local Zoning Preemption Legislation This Case was removed from the agenda. <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The purpose of this case is to check with the City Council to determine if a response (either in favor or in <br />opposition) is desired on behalf of the City. <br />This bill, if passed, will restrict some of the tools commonly used by the City in the development review/approval <br />process. Additionally, the administrative provisions (particularly applying the 60 Day Rule to Building Permits) <br />will create additional workload for the City and will likely have a fiscal impact. <br />Ordinarily, this topic would be on Work Session; however the current Work Session Schedule is currently <br />full/over-scheduled. There is urgency in timing if the City Council wants to respond. Multiple Committee Meetings <br />have already occurred on this bill and the bill could get a hearing on the House and Senate Floor in the near future. <br />This case is a placeholder for discussion; Staff will have a more robust presentation at the meeting. <br />Councilmembers are encouraged to ask questions in advance to help prepare the Staff Presentation. <br />Recommendation: <br />Based on discussion.
