Anoka County to lead CSAH 116/Bunker Lake Boulevard & TH 47/Saint Francis
Boulevard Intersection Improvement
Anoka County is leading a project on CSAH 116/Bunker Lake Blvd and Trunk Highway 47/St.
Francis Blvd. beginning in 2021. The purpose of the project is to increase intersection capacity
and safety by providing additional travel and turn lanes. Additional left turn lanes will better
accommodate turns from TH 47 onto CSAH 116 and will reduce queuing in thru-lanes due to left
turning vehicles. Lengthening turn lanes will reduce queue lengths and increase safety on both
roadways by removing vehicles waiting to turn from thru-lanes. Turn lane improvements will
include extending the CSAH 116 westbound right turn lane across the CSAH 116 bridge. The
project will also widen the CSAH 116 bridge crossing the Rum River oxbow east of TH 47 to
accommodate a turn lane on westbound CSAH 116 for vehicles turning north onto TH 47.
A pre -construction meeting was held on Friday, March 19, 2021. Representatives from Anoka
County, Forest Lake Contracting (prime contractor), private utility companies, and the Cities of
Anoka and Ramsey attended. More details on these closures should be known soon.
More information on this project, as well as updates during construction, may be found on the
project website at www.anokacounty.us/3750/CSAF1-116-aL-TH-47.
For more information, please contact Chris Osterhus, Anoka County Construction Engineering
Supervisor, at 763-324-3189 or chris.osterhu.@co.anoka.mn.us, or Bruce Westby, City Engineer
at bwestby@cityoframsey.com.
