ADMINISTRATION
Communications
March 31, 2021
Contact: Erik Thorson, Communications Director, 763-324-4612, or e-mail:
Erik.Thorsonco.anoka.mn.us
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
COVID-19 Vaccine Program Update
Governor Walz recently announced all Minnesotans aged 16 and older are now eligible to
receive a COVID-19 vaccine. Vaccine providers, including Anoka County Public Health, have
been directed to prioritize vaccine appointments for people most at risk of getting COVID-19, or
those who could develop severe illness if infected. This includes older Minnesotans, people with
underlying health conditions, and those in essential jobs. Anoka County Public Health continues
to follow the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) guidelines on vaccine rollout, which can be
found at https://mn.gov/covidl9/vaccine/whos-getting-vaccinated/index.jsp
Community members are encouraged to go through the Vaccine Connector on the MDH
website to find a vaccine opportunity (https://mn.gov/covidl9/vaccine/connector/connector.jsp).
Community members should only set up a vaccine appointment if they are invited to a
clinic directly by a vaccine provider. Using a shared link may prevent prioritized individuals from
being able to schedule an appointment. Those who sign up for an Anoka County vaccine clinic
who were not invited will have their appointment canceled. Anoka County is privileged to provide
COVID-19 vaccine to the protect the health and safety of the community.
-30-
ET:bv
peal/lull, umiulov tlimma* II a lllly a` Iponsulliml0e
ylt a raunu u t t; •u t it 4. 21100 315 Avenue., a Ote 700 4.
