Thc consensus of the EDA was to direct staff to include further discussion of the Twin Cities <br />Community Capital Fund on a future agenda. <br /> <br />Economic Development/TIF Specialist Sullivan requested the EDA return to discussion of Case <br />No. 1 to provide staff with direction. <br /> <br />Case #1: 2005 Workplan <br /> <br />Motion by Member Gromberg, seconded by Member Elvig, to adopt the 2005 Workplan. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Steffen, Members Gromberg, Elvig, Kiefer, <br />and LcTom'neau. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairperson Riley and Member Strommen. <br /> <br />Case #3: Staff Update <br /> <br />The EDA reviewed the staff update. Associate Planner Wald reviewed the items on the agenda <br />o f the April 7th and April 21 st Planning Commission meetings. <br /> <br />I.;conomic Dcvelopment/TIF Specialist Sullivan indicated FSL Paintball Arena is requesting an <br />interim use permit to establish an outdoor playing field 100 by 150 feet. He would like the EDA <br />to comment on whether this is something that is desired in the industrial parks. Associate <br />l'lanner Wald explained the owner of this property has a conditional use permit to have more <br />outside storage than City code allows, so there already are lot of things on the property. The <br />owner thinks the paintbaI1 would a niche that would bring his business forward. However, <br />during the conditional use permit process staff informed the property owner they did not want to <br />see anything else on the property due to concern about the amount of outdoor storage on the <br />property. <br /> <br />Motion by Member Gromberg, seconded by Acting Chairperson Steffen, to recommend that an <br />outdoor paintball field is not a compatible use in the industrial parks. The City has spent a great <br />deal of time, effort and money cleaning the industrial parks up and an outdoor paintball field <br />would be a non-conforming use. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Steffen, Members Gromberg, Elvig, Kiefer, <br />and I,eTourneau. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairperson Riley and Member Strommen. <br /> <br />l?,conomic Development/TIF Specialist Sullivan informed the EDA that an HRA has been <br />created, however, this does not change anything the EDA will do.
