Braun. <br />5 Mr. Fuhrman, you may proceed whenever you are ready. <br />6 ORAL ARGUMENT OF HAROLD H. FUHRMAN, ESQ. <br />7 ON BEHALF OF APPELLANTS <br />8 MR. FUHRMAN: Mr. Chief Justice, and may it please <br />9 the Court: <br />10 This case is an appeal from a judgment of the United <br />11 States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. This judgment <br />12 was adopted by an equally divided court from a vote of five to <br />13 five. The effect of the judgment was to affirm the order of <br />14 the United States District Court for the Eastern District of <br />15 Wisconsin. <br />16 That order contained an injunction that enjoined the <br />17 enforcement of an ordinance of the Town of Brookfield. That <br />18 ordinance provided for the prohibition of picketing before and <br />19 about any residence or dwelling in the Town of Brookfield. <br />20 After that ordinance was adopted, the Appellees <br />21 commenced this legal action seeking declaratory relief and an <br />22 injunction against the enforcement of the ordinance.
