Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #05-07-XXX RESOLUTON AWARDING CONTRACT FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #02-34, RAMSEY MUNICIPAL PARKING FACILITY WHEREAS, the design of this project was authorized by the City Council at their July 27, 2004 regular City Council meeting; and WHEREAS, a public hearing was held and the project was authorized by the City Council at their February 22, 2005 regular City Council meeting; and WHEREAS, the final site plan for improvement project #02-34 have been prepared by LSA De.sign and approved by the City Council at their May 10, 2005 regular City Council meeting; and WHEREAS, the authorization to advertisement for bids for this project was approved on May 24, 2005, and WHEREAS, the following is a summary of the five quotes that were received: Bidder Adolfson & Peterson, Inc. Penn-Co Construction, Lac Shaw - Lundquist Associates, Inc. Knutson Construct/on Lund Martin Construction Amount of Bid $7,253,000.00 $7,354,000.00 $7,944,000.00 $8,887,000.00 $9,200,000.00 Engineers Estimate: $7,279,550.00 AND WHEREAS, it appears that Adolfson Perterson, [nc.is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the MaYor and City Administrator are hereby authOrized and directed to enter into a contract with Glenn Rehbein Excavating in the name of the City of Ramsey for the construction of improvement Project #02-34 in the amount of $7,253,000.00. 2) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. -294-
