Mr. Rick stated he was told when he started working on his house that sewer and water would have to come from the north. He indicated on the south side of his property there is an easement over his driveway for the neighbor. He asked if he could vacate that easement now. Associate Planner Geisler indicated Staff would need to review the easement document. Mr. Rick indicated he would still like to see larger lots. He stated he is not opPosed to change, or to houses, although he prefers the corn fields, but he would like to see fewer lots. Vice Chairperson Johnson asked how Mr. Rick~s house would get sewer and water. He wondered ifa line could be mn down the property line. City Engineer Jankowski indicated he would not recommend that. He stated they 'do not like to service properties through easements on other properties. Vice Chairperson Johnson stated it seems it might be an option here because they do not know where else it could come from. Commissioner Brauer asked if a trunk would go up Highway 47. City Engineer Jankowski advised sewer has to follow grade, where water does not. He stated they could run the water up Highway 47, but sewer would be a different effort. -He stated the entire development will flow by gravity to the low point, and be transferred by lift station to another main. He added they would make sure it is large enough to service other properties in the area. Vice Chairperson Johnson stated it seems like this is an unique situation. He indicated if it runs up Highway 47 it would be different, but they do not know if that will. happen. Mr. Rick indicated if you look at the property to the north there is his parcel, a swamp, the nursery and a golf course. John Peterson, OakWood Land Development, indicated that sewage on their plat will flow to the lift station, and will be quite deep to potentially service a larger area. He stated if there will ever be sewer and water to this property to the east it will have to come from his property. He indicated he does not know what the City policy is, but they would be happy to provide an easement between the two comer lots. He stated Mr. Rick's lot is higher, so a gravity system would work. He indicated they would be willing to provide: the easement if the City wants to pursue it. Motion by Commissioner Levine, seconded by Commissioner Shepherd to close the public hearing at 8:58 p.m. Motion Carried.
