CONTRACT WITH D JR ARCHITECTURE, INC. FOR MASTERPLAN DESIGN <br />SERVICES OF A FITNESS CENTER IN RAMSEY TOWN CENTER <br /> By: James E. Norman, City Administrator <br /> <br />BackgroUnd: <br /> <br />During the Finance Committee meeting of June 28, 2005, staff'presented to the <br />Committee several consulting service contracts that need to be addressed in the <br />immediate future. <br /> <br />The next of these consulting services is in regards to the Ramsey Town Center Fitness <br />Center project in the core area. <br /> <br />D JR Architecture, Inc. has submitted a two phase proposal outlining their services for the <br />community center/fitness center project. As outlined in the attached proposal, the first <br />phase would consist of: gathering data, code and zoning review and preliminary site <br />planning/programming. The second phase would commence development of a master <br />plan with a concept building plan that would provide the basis for the preliminary <br />building footprint/location. <br /> <br />The total fee for the two phases is $69,100. Funding would once again be obtained from <br />'the Council Contingency Fund which has a balance orS115,000 not taking into <br />consideration any consulting services approved at tonight's meeting. The balance of the <br />fund would be $40,900 if this contract and Mr. Silk's contract are approved. <br /> <br />Cmnmittee Action: <br /> <br />Recommend to City Council the approval of the Contract Proposal by D JR Architecture <br />in the amount of $69,100 for masterplan design services of a fitness/community center in <br />the Ramsey Town Center Core. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Based on the recommendation of the Finance Committee to authorize the adoption of <br />Resolution #05-07-XXX approving the Ramsey Town Center Core Area Fitness Center <br />Masterplan Design Services contract with D JR Architecture, [NC in the amount of <br />$69,100 with funding obtained via transfer from the Council Contingency fund to the <br />budget of Community Development. <br /> <br /> <br />
