CC Regular Session <br />Meeting Date: 04/27/2021 <br />By: Katie Schmidt, Administrative Services <br />Information <br />Title <br />Adopt Resolution #21-113 Hiring Temporary Interns <br />5. 17. <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The purpose of this case is to request authorization to hire Temporary Interns. Annually the City employs Interns to <br />work in Administrative Services and Engineering. This year a Parks Intern was added to assist with tasks that would <br />normally be done by the currently vacant Recreational Specialist position. <br />The process to fill these positions includes an open competitive recruitment, interviews, background checks, <br />pre -employment testing, City Council approval to hire and on -boarding. <br />At this time, staff selected four qualified interns. All candidates have passed the pre -employment screenings and <br />staff recommends hiring the candidates listed below. <br />Intern pay: The updated and approved intern pay scale is $13.00 to $18.00 dollars per hour, depending on <br />qualifications. <br />Funding Source: <br />The funding required to fill these positions is included within the approved 2021 budget. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends hiring the following 2021 employees on or near the dates listed below: <br />Administrative Intern, Nicole Laubach, effective, May 3, 2021 at $14.00 per hour; Engineering Intern, Hannah <br />Painschab, effective May 17, 2021 at $15.00 per hour, Engineering Intern Karen Cook, effective May 24, 2021 at <br />$15.00 per hour, and Park & Recreation Intern, Brandon Wagenfeld, effective May 3, 2021 at $14.00 per hour. <br />Action: <br />Motion to adopt resolution #21-113 to hire the following employees on or near the dates listed below: <br />Administrative Intern, Nicole Laubach, effective, May 3, 2021 at $14.00 per hour; Engineering Intern, Hannah <br />Painschab, effective May 17, 2021 at $15.00 per hour, Engineering Intern Karen Cook, effective May 24, 2021 at <br />$15.00 per hour, and Park & Recreation Intern, Brandon Wagenfeld, effective May 3, 2021 at $14.00 per hour. <br />Engineering Intern JD <br />Admin Intern JD <br />Interim Rec.
