CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />Topic Report: Use of City Hall Campus <br />By: James E. Norman, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />As construction of a new municipal center progresses, it is time to begin discussions of <br />the current city hall campus site. As Council is aware, there have been past discussions <br />with the Anoka Hennepin School District concerning the future of a possible middle <br />school. As part of those discussions, staff has been in communications with the School <br />District concerning the needs of a potential middle school site. <br /> <br />One opportunity staff would like to discuss with Council is the land to the south of the <br />current city hall campus. The land has been purchased for residential development and <br />staff has discussed that site with the School District. Staff would like to ask the City <br />Council to consider a swap with some of the land so that housing development could take <br />place to the south of Alpine Boulevard, the current city hall campus site.
