CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
Topic Report: East/West Corridor
Alignment
By: James E. Norman, City Administrator

Background:

The 2005-2009 Capital Improvement Program includes a proposed project #04-STR-020
with the project name of 167th Avenue Extension (Jaspar to Armstrong). This project
would be the new 167th Avenue corridor created between Nowthen Boulevard and
Armstrong Boulevard, which the City Administrator refers to as "Herethere" Boulevard.

ri'he alignment for the corridor extension was discussed through the last Comprehensive
Planning process. During the transportation discussions of the Comprehensive Planning
process, the City Council changed the alignment and selected a more northerly route after
considering three separate alternatives. Recent discussions with a developer of
Brookfield Addition have suggested a new alignment for the corridor extension and staff
would like to discuss the alignment with the City Council during the Work Session.

Action Statement:

Based upon discussion.

Reviewed by:

City Administrator

CCWS: 07/19/05
