CC Regular Session 5. 19. <br />Meeting Date: 05/ 11 /2021 <br />By: Colleen Lasher, Administrative <br />Services <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Adopt Resolution #21-136 Hiring Seasonal Public Works Maintenance Workers <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The purpose of this case is to request the City Council to consider hiring Seasonal Public Works Maintenance <br />Workers. <br />Background <br />Annually, the City employs Seasonal Public Works Maintenance Workers to perform work in the Parks, Streets, <br />and Utilities Divisions of Public Works. At this time, staff selected seasonal candidates to work in the Public Works <br />Department. Seasonal Public Works Maintenance workers provide general maintenance of streets, park grounds, <br />trails, buildings, and related facilities and equipment through the spring, summer, and possibly fall months. This <br />also includes mowing and trimming; pruning and planting trees or working on landscape projects; maintaining <br />athletic fields; picking up trash; street maintenance; and utilities maintenance. <br />Recruitment Process <br />City staff conducted an external recruitment. Candidates new to the City participated in an oral interview. Returning <br />candidates are not required to interview, but are required to complete the rest of the pre -employment testing as if <br />they were a new employee.
