Handbook for Playground Safety <br />Step 4: Visually determine if the projection extends beyond <br />the face of the slide projection gauge. <br />Pass: A projection that does not extend beyond the <br />face of the gauge passes. <br />Fail: A projection that extends beyond the face of <br />the gauge is considered a hazardous protrusion <br />and should be eliminated. <br />NOTE: This test procedure is not applicable to the underside of <br />a slide chute. For a slide chute with a circular cross section, the <br />portion of the underside not subject to this projection recommen- <br />dation is shown in Figure 18.
