Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #21-137 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTIAL PAYMENT NO. 1 TO KUECHLE UNDERGROUND, INC. FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #21-00, RIVERDALE DRIVE RECONSTRUCTION, FELDSPAR STREET TO SUNFISH LAKE BOULEVARD WHEREAS, the City proposes to reconstruct Riverdale Drive NW between Feldspar Street NW and Sunfish Lake Boulevard in 2021 under City Improvement Project #21-00; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #20-248 adopted November 24, 2020, the City Council accepted the design services proposal of Bolton & Menk, Inc. for providing engineering services required to develop final plans and specifications for the purpose of soliciting bids for the construction of Improvement Project #21-00; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #21-022 adopted January 26, 2021, the City Council approved final plans and specifications as prepared by Bolton & Menk, Inc. and authorized advertisements for bids for the construction of Improvement Project #21-00; and WHEREAS, bids were advertised in the Anoka Union Herald and in Finance and Commerce on January 29th and February 5th, 2021; and WHEREAS, eleven (11) bids were received, opened, and tabulated on March 2, 2021, and the following bids were found to comply with the approved plans and specifications and advertisements for bids, and WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #21-057 adopted March 9, 2021, the bid of Kuechle Underground Inc. of Kimball, Minnesota, in the amount of $771,913.13 for the construction of the said improvements was accepted, and the Mayor and city Administrator were authorized and directed to enter into a contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvements for and on behalf of the City of Ramsey; and WHEREAS, as of May 25, 2021 $0.00 has been paid to date; and WHEREAS, the Engineer Technician IV has inspected the completed work and recommends partial payment to Kuechle Underground, Inc. of Kimball, Minnesota for Improvement Project #21-00 Riverdale Drive Reconstruction, from Feldspar Street to Sunfish Lake Boulevard, in the amount of $49,537.75. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1.) That the City Council hereby authorizes partial payment to Kuechle Underground, Inc. of Kimball, Minnesota for Improvement Project #21-00, Riverdale Drive Reconstruction, from Feldspar Street to Sunfish Lake Boulevard, in the amount of $49,537.75. 2.) The City Council authorizes the Mayor and City Administrator to sign the release form for this payment. 3.) The total amount of this payment is not included in resolutions approving payment of bills for the date of May 25, 2021. 4.) That the City of Ramsey Finance Department will be given a signed copy of this resolution.
