CC Regular Session 5. 16. <br />Meeting Date: 06/08/2021 <br />By: Colleen Lasher, Administrative <br />Services <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Adopt Resolution #21-164 to Hire a Public Works Streets Maintenance Worker Backfilling a Vacant Position <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The purpose of this case is to authorize filling the vacant full-time Streets Maintenance Worker position. <br />In April, one Streets Maintenance Worker resigned, which created a vacancy in the Streets Division. The Street <br />Maintenance Worker position is responsible for constructing and maintaining streets, parking lots and related <br />property; performing snow related activities; performing general maintenance activities; performing general labor; <br />performing vehicle and motorized equipment maintenance; performing and assisting with landscape, grounds care, <br />and forestry/naturalist activities; providing assistance with preparation of community events; performing <br />mechanical building maintenance and repair; as well as a wide range of other tasks as required. <br />In addition, the Streets Maintenance Worker is required be a member of the Public Works on -call team and work a <br />rotating on -call schedule 8 weeks per year. This requires employees to be available to respond during evenings, <br />weekends and holidays. <br />Staff conducted a recruitment process which included first interviews and second interviews. Mr. William <br />Bellefeuille was selected as the top candidate. Mr. Bellefeuille successfully completed the City's background <br />checks and pre -employment testing process. The City extended a contingent job offer pending City Council <br />approval. If hired, Mr. William Bellefeuille will be subject to a six-month probationary period, the personnel policy <br />and the AFSCME labor agreement. <br />Funding Source: <br />The funding for backfilling this position is included in the 2021 budget. <br />Recommendation: <br />To hire Mr. William Bellefeuille as a full-time Public Works Streets Maintenance Worker, effective on or near <br />June 14, 2021, at $23.679 per hour which is step 1 of the 2021 wage scale. <br />Outcome/Action: <br />Motion to adopt resolution #21-164 to hire Mr. William Bellefeuille as a full-time Public Works Streets <br />Maintenance Worker, effective on or near June 14, 2021, at $23.679 per hour, which is step 1 of the 2021 wage <br />scale. <br />Resolution #21-164 <br />Inbox <br />Colleen Lasher (Originator) <br />Attachments <br />Form Review <br />Reviewed By Date <br />Colleen Lasher 06/03/2021 08:34 AM <br />
