<br />Councilmember Riley introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #21-186 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING REQUEST FOR ANOKA COUNTY TO STUDY TRAFFIC <br />ON NOWTHEN BOULEVARD/COUNTY STATE AID HIGHWAY 5 BETWEEN SAINT <br />FRANCIS BOULEVARD/ TRUNK HIGHWAY 47 AND ALPINE DRIVE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> while considering approvals in 2020 for the Hampton Townhomes (formerly <br />Odyssey Homes) residential townhome development west of Nowthen Boulevard/County State <br />Aid Highway (CSAH) 5 and south of 146th Avenue, public concerns were raised concerning traffic <br />safety on CSAH 5 at its intersection with 146th Avenue NW, including requests for turn lanes on <br />CSAH 5 at 146th Avenue NW; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the City of Ramsey’s adopted Strategic Plan includes an action item to <br />complete a corridor study on CSAH 5; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> Anoka County has jurisdiction over CSAH 5; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the City of Ramsey desires to work cooperatively with Anoka County to <br />accommodate the safe and efficient movement of traffic on Nowthen Boulevard/CSAH 5 between <br />Saint Francis Boulevard/Trunk Highway (TH) 47 and Alpine Drive. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1)That the City of Ramsey requests that Anoka County complete a traffic study for Nowthen <br />Boulevard/CSAH 5 between Saint Francis Boulevard/TH 47 and Alpine Drive in <br />consideration of the following concerns. <br /> <br />a.The City of Ramsey is concerned for the safety of motorists waiting to turn left from <br />th <br />northbound CSAH 5 onto westbound 146 Avenue. <br /> <br />b.The City of Ramsey is concerned for the safety of motorists waiting to turn left from <br />southbound CSAH 5 onto eastbound 146th Avenue. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Woestehoff and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor Kuzma <br /> Councilmember Riley <br /> Councilmember Woestehoff <br /> Councilmember Heineman <br /> Councilmember Howell <br /> Councilmember Musgrove <br /> Councilmember Specht <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
