Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION #21-188 RESOLUTION APPROVING RISK AND RESILIENCE ASSESSMENT FOR AMERICA'S WATER INFRASTRUCTURE ACT OF 2018 WHEREAS, Congress adopted the America's Water Infrastructure Act in 2018 to require public water systems to develop or update risk assessments and emergency response plans, and ; WHEREAS, The City of Ramsey is public water system covered by the act, and; WHEREAS, Engineering staff brought a proposal to the November 17, 2020 Public Works Committee to accept a proposal from a consultant to prepare the risk and resiliency assessment. The committee discussed the proposal and determined that staff time would still be required with a consultant doing the work so the Committee voted to have staff complete the assessment, and; WHEREAS, City Engineering Staff has completed the Risk Assessment for the City of Ramsey water system, and the plan must be submitted to the Environmental Protection Agency of the United States on or before June 30, 2021. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF Ramsey, MINNESOTA AS FOLLOWS: 1. City staff has completed the risk assessment for the City water system and has presented it to City Council for review. 2. The Ramsey City Council authorizes the City Engineering Staff to submit the risk assessment for the City water system to the Environmental Protection Agency of the United States on June 30, 2021. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this 22nd day of June 2021.
