Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION #21-188 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING RISK AND RESILIENCE ASSESSMENT FOR <br />AMERICA'S WATER INFRASTRUCTURE ACT OF 2018 <br />WHEREAS, Congress adopted the America's Water Infrastructure Act in 2018 to require public <br />water systems to develop or update risk assessments and emergency response plans, and ; <br />WHEREAS, The City of Ramsey is public water system covered by the act, and; <br />WHEREAS, Engineering staff brought a proposal to the November 17, 2020 Public Works <br />Committee to accept a proposal from a consultant to prepare the risk and resiliency assessment. <br />The committee discussed the proposal and determined that staff time would still be required with <br />a consultant doing the work so the Committee voted to have staff complete the assessment, and; <br />WHEREAS, City Engineering Staff has completed the Risk Assessment for the City of Ramsey <br />water system, and the plan must be submitted to the Environmental Protection Agency of the <br />United States on or before June 30, 2021. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />Ramsey, MINNESOTA AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. City staff has completed the risk assessment for the City water system and has presented <br />it to City Council for review. <br />2. The Ramsey City Council authorizes the City Engineering Staff to submit the risk <br />assessment for the City water system to the Environmental Protection Agency of the United <br />States on June 30, 2021. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council <br />this 22nd day of June 2021. <br />Mayor <br />RESOLUTION #21-188 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
