Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #21-169 <br />RESOLUTION TO FILL THE VACANT POLICE OFFICER POSITION <br />WHEREAS, there is a Police Officer vacancy; and <br />WHEREAS, an internal and external recruitment process was conducted; and <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Kayla LaTarte has been selected by the Police Chief to fill the position; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Kayla LaTarte successfully passed the City's pre -employment checks, <br />including: reference checks, background and driving record checks, pre -employment assessments, <br />and pre -employment physical and drug screen; and <br />WHEREAS, all Police Officers are subject to the Law Enforcement Labor Services union <br />contract, including a 1-year probation; and <br />WHEREAS, the Police Chief recommends hiring Ms. Kayla LaTarte effective on or near <br />July 7, 2021, at step 1 of the 2021 pay scale, which is $28.350 per hour. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) Motion to adopt resolution #21-169 hiring Ms. Kayla LaTarte to the position of Police <br />Officer, effective on or near July 7, 2021 at $28.350 per hour, which is step 1 of the 2021 <br />wage scale. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember , <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br />
