ORDINANCE #21-16 <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />AN ORDINANCE REPEALING GAS AND ELECTRIC FRANCHISE FEES <br />IMPLEMENTED UNDER ORDINANCE Nos. 20-11, 20-12 AND 20-13. <br />THE CITY OF RAMSEY ORDAINS: <br />SECTION 1: PURPOSE <br />The purpose of this Ordinance is to repeal the gas and electric franchise fees <br />imposed upon Centerpoint Energy Minnesota, Connexus Energy and the City of Anoka <br />Electric Utility, with said fees to cease being collected after the final franchise fee invoice <br />billing issued by the utilities in December 2021. <br />SECTION 2: REPEAL <br />The following Ordinances are hereby repealed, effective December 31, 2021: <br />1. Ordinance #20-11, an Ordinance Implementing a Gas Franchise Fee on <br />Centerpoint Energy Minnesota, its Successors and Assigns, for Providing Gas <br />Service within the City of Ramsey, Anoka County, Minnesota. <br />2. Ordinance #20-12, an Ordinance Implementing an Electric Franchise Fee on <br />Connexus Energy, a Minnesota Cooperative, its Successors and Assigns, for <br />Providing Electric Service within the City of Ramsey, Anoka County, <br />Minnesota. <br />3. Ordinance #20-13, an Ordinance Implementing an Electric Franchise Fee on <br />City of Anoka, a Minnesota Municipal Corporation, its Successors and <br />Assigns, for Providing Electric Service within the City of Ramsey, Anoka <br />County, Minnesota. <br />The franchise fees shall cease to be billed as provided in the three franchise fee <br />ordinances after the final franchise fee invoice billing issued by the utilities in December <br />2021. <br />SECTION 3: EFFECTIVE DATE <br />This Ordinance becomes effective 30 days after its passage and publication, <br />subject to City Charter Section 5.04. <br />
