%~~ Anoka County Contract No. 2005-0523 <br /> <br /> JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT <br /> FOR THE CHANNELIZATION AND SIGNALIZATION OF <br /> COUNTY STATE AID HIGHWAY 116 (BUNKER LAKE BLVD.) AT <br /> THURSTON AVENUE / DYSPROSIUM STREET <br /> IN THE CITY OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA <br /> (S.P. 02-716-07) <br /> <br />This Agreement made and entered into this ,2005, by and between the <br />County of Anoka, State of Mimaesota, a political subdivision of the State of Mimaesota, <br />2100 Third Avenue North, Anoka, Minnesota, 55303, hereinafter referred to as "County", <br />and the City of Ramsey, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota, 55303, <br />hercinaher referred to as the "City". <br /> <br />WITNESSETH <br /> <br />W III-',REAS, the parties of this agreement have long exhibited concern for the safety at <br />County State Aid Highway I 16 (Bunker Lake Blvd.) and Thurston Aye./Dygprosium St., <br />and, <br /> <br />W III~REAS, the County has received federal funds through the State Hazard Elimination <br />Safety Program to improve the intersection of County State Aid Highway 116 (Bunker <br />I,akc Blvd.) and Thurston Ave./Dyspr6sium St., and, <br /> <br />Wt 1ERF, AS, the intersection of County State Aid Highway 116 (Bunker Lake Blvd.) and <br />Thurston Ave./Dysprosium St., has met warrants for a full traffic actuated traffic control <br />signal; and, <br /> <br />WI I EREAS, the parties agree that the County shall cause the construction of the <br />channelization and signalization of County State Aid Highway 116.(Bunker Lake Blvd.) <br />and Thurston Ave./Dysprosium St., and, <br /> <br />W! II';REAS, the Anoka County Highway Department has prepared plans and <br />specifications l~br Project No. S.P. 02-716-07 which plans and specifications are dated <br />June 22, 2005, and which are on file in the office oi: the County Engineer; and, <br /> <br />WI IEREAS, thc parties agree that it is in their best interest that the cost of said project be <br />shared; and, <br /> <br />WI-IEREAS, Minnesota Statute 471.59 authorizes political subdivisions of the State to <br />enter into joint powers agreements for the joint exercise of powers common to each. <br /> <br />N()W, TI.
