At the December 12 meeting, City Staff presented a case that summarized the main areas of concern with respect to the various businesses that have not made any progress towards compliance. At Staff s recommendation, the City Council deferred the discussion to a future work session. That work session date and time has been set for Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at 5:45 p.m. or immediately following the 5:30 p.m. City Council Personnel Subcommittee meeting. The work sessions are open to the public. While City Council may open the floor for public comment, the purpose of the work sessions is to give councilmembers an opportunity to work through issues in an informal setting. Generally, the result of a work session is that staff is given direction on how to proceed and if necessary, the item is brought to a regular Council meeting for formal action. In the interim, there are some 2007 license applications that are pending. It is anticipated that finalization of the 2007 licensing will resume following the January 23, 2007 work session.
