(c) Any sign installed or placed on any parcel prior to receipt of a permit, the specified permit fee shall be <br />doubled. District Regulations <br />Sec. 117-517. District regulations. <br />In addition to those signs permitted or required in all districts as described in sections 117-463 and 117-465, <br />the following signs are permitted in each specific district and shall be regulated as to size, location and character <br />according to the requirements herein set forth. <br />(Code 1978, § 9.12.06; Ord. No. 94-02, 2-28-1994; Ord. No. 08-07, § 2, 2-12-2008; Ord. No. 08-25, § 2, 8-12-2008) <br />Sec. 117-518. Residential type districts. <br />(a) Area identification signs. One sign per vehicular access to a development, not to exceed 32 square feet in <br />area is permitted. <br />(b) Temporary signs. Temporary signs are permitted in accordance with section 117-465. <br />(c) Home occupation signs. No. 08-25, § 2, 8-12-2008) <br />Sec. 117-519. Business type districts. <br />(a) Business use signs. <br />(1) Wall, canopy or marquee sign. Total sign area may not exceed 15 percent of the front building facade. <br />Businesses in multitenant buildings shall be allowed the proportionate share of the total wall sign area. <br />The total wall signage permitted may be distributed on any other building facade. Sign height shall not <br />exceed the top of the parapet wall or, if no parapet wall, sign height shall not exceed the height of the <br />eaves. A wall, canopy or marquee sign may be located on the outermost wall of any principal building <br />but shall not project more than 16 inches from the wall to which the sign is to be affixed. The gross <br />surface area of a wall, canopy or marquee sign may be increased by ten percent if such wall sign: <br />a. Consists only of individual, outlined alphabetic, numeric and/or symbolic characters without <br />background except that provided by the building surface to which the sign is to be affixed; and <br />b. Illumination, if any, is achieved through shielded illumination, shielded silhouette lighting, or <br />shielded spot lighting but not any lighting where the light source is visible or exposed on the face <br />or sides of the characters. <br />(2) Ground sign. There shall not be more than one ground sign for each parcel or per road frontage on <br />parcels with more than one road frontage, not to exceed an aggregate of two ground signs.
