Commissioner Shryock stated regarding Town Center, in addition to the park space, they have <br />over' thc years talked about a Community Center and she wondered if this was still in the works. <br /> <br />Mayor' Gamac stated it is in the works. They received a letter from Health Quest in Ramsey and <br />they ~nay be interested in expanding or connecting to the hotel. He thought within the next City <br />Council meeting or two they will have a better understanding on what is going on. They are <br />look ing at doing a new study regarding the amenities the residents want. <br /> <br />lrire Chief Kapler thought there was a place earmarked within Town Center for a Community <br />Center. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamac indicated that was true. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ostrum stated the Park Commission needed to get more information regarding <br />changes to Town Center parks. He stated he was disappointed with what has happened in there <br />and thc changes that have been made without the Park Commission's knowledge. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamac stated the parks are very important to the community. He stated they need to <br />continue to focus on all of the parks in the City. Even with Town Center going in, they cam~ot <br />forget thc other parks. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns thought the key items were being met in Town Center parks but there have <br />been some changes that they were surprised about. <br /> <br />Commissioner Shryock thought they were doing a good job on keeping a good eye on the parks <br />in thc City and where the money needs to go and what needs to be improved. She also thought it <br />was great that Health Quest is interested in a Community Center and she thought they needed to <br />create a partnership with someone to get one in because other communities in the area will <br />depend on it also. <br /> <br />Commissioner Shryock thought they needed to come up with a name for the "Swoosh" area. <br /> <br />Civil Engincer II Linton stated they received some information for South and East parks in Town <br />Center but the drawings are not finished yet. The Attorney is working on some issues. <br /> <br />Councihnember Al Pierson stated he liked the comments on what is happening in Town Center. <br />lie statcd if they have a park issue; please bring them forward to the Council.
