Assistant Public Works Director Olson indicated staff received a new draft dated June 10, 2005. <br />Thc term of the contract is 15 years; at the time it goes beyond 15 years it wilt revert back to all <br />sewer and water trunk fees coming back to the City. Anything beyond the defined area would <br />not be covered in the contract. He advised there are some additional lots Oakwood Land <br />Development has agreed to pay for that will not necessarily go through final platting to the west <br />of the existing preliminary plat; these lots are referred to as future sub-dividable lots. There is <br />also language included that would allow for collection on the John Roe property, which was <br />included in the request for the feasibility study. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman indicated if the Council determines the agreement is ready for <br />authorization it will be placed on the agenda of the next Council meeting. <br /> <br />John Peterson of Oakwood Land Development stated July 20th is the end of the comment period <br />tbr the I]AW for Brookfield. He expects to be in front of the Planning Commission in August <br />Jbr preliminary plat, and this is a crucial time to formalize this agreement. <br /> <br />Councihnember Cook stated it is important for the City to have this agreement, as it shows how <br />equitable the agreement is and what the City has to gain from it. <br /> <br />Councilmcmber Elvig stressed the importance of informing the public that this six million <br />dollars t?om Oakwood Land Development is going towards both sewer and water development. <br /> <br />The consensus of the Council was to direct that the City Attorney and the attorney representing <br />Oakwood Land Development to put the proposed draft into a contract, and to direct staff to place <br />the contract on the agenda of the next City Council meeting. <br /> <br />2) Bid Alternates for the Municipal Center Parking Garage <br /> <br />Representatives of LSA Design reviewed with the Council the following bid alternates for the <br />Municipal Center Parking Garage, and advised the prices will be held for 30 days: <br /> <br />]. Real stone element on the lowest five feet of the building at a cost of $140,000 in addition to <br />~he base bid. <br /> <br />The consensus of the Council was not to proceed with this bid alternate. <br /> <br />2. Steel curtain wall ,ystem as opposed to the base bid of an aluminum curtain wall system in <br />the pedestrian stair area of the parking facility at a cost of $170, 000 in addition to the base bid. <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson advised the aluminum curtain wall system was bid on the <br />Mm~icipal Center south wall. <br /> <br />Mayor (iamec suggested the appearance of the Municipal Center and the Parking Facility should <br />be uniform, with the same materials used. <br /> <br />City Council Work Session/July 12, 2005 <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
