<br />Councilmember Woestehoff introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #21-267 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING LOCAL PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM (LPP) FUNDING <br />FOR RIVERDALE DRIVE EXTENSION – LLAMA STREET TO BOWERS DRIVE, <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #20-05 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />existing Riverdale Drive between Sunfish Lake Boulevard and Armstrong <br />Boulevard functions as the south frontage road to U.S. Highway 10/169; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />the City of Ramsey proposes to extend Riverdale Drive between Llama Street <br />and Bowers Drive to extend the south frontage road system south of U.S. Highway 10/169 to <br />Bowers Drive; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />this improvement project is consistent with the goals and objectives of the <br />Highway 10 Access Planning Study completed in 2014 in partnership between the Minnesota <br />Department of Transportation (MnDOT) and the Anoka County Highway Department, and <br />broadly supported by partnering agencies including the City of Anoka, City of Ramsey, Anoka <br />County, MnDOT, and the Metropolitan Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />the City represents that the proposed extension of Riverdale Drive between <br />Llama Street and Bowers Drive meets the requirements of the Local Partnership Program (LPP) <br />thereby allowing the project to receive LPP grant funding up to the maximum award amount of <br />$710,000; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />the City has the capability to adequately fund its local cost share for this <br />improvement project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />the City agrees to comply with all applicable laws and regulations as stated <br />in the grant agreement; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />the City has the necessary capabilities to adequately develop, implement, <br />manage, and maintain this public improvement project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />on September 3, 2021, MnDOT notified the City it was awarded $612,000 <br />in funding through MnDOT’s fiscal year 2023 Metro Local Partnership Program for use in funding <br />a portion of the costs to extend Riverdale Drive between Llama Street and Bowers Drive, <br />designated as Improvement Project #20-05. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />1)That the Ramsey City Council hereby accepts the awarded amount of $612,000 in LPP <br />funding through the FY 2023 Local Partnership Program (LPP) to pay for a portion of the <br />costs to extend Riverdale Drive between Llama Street and Bowers Drive, designated as <br />Improvement Project #20-05. <br /> <br />
