have questions and concerns. She stated they talked with Mr. Peterson and believe his proposal <br />sounds good because it will bring people out to enjoy what we have. She noted Ramsey is a <br />growing community and she thinks it is a good thing. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec complimented Ms. Cole for making her comments, which is difficult in this <br />audience. He commented that it is an important part of government to allow the other side to <br />also speak. <br /> <br />Mr. Del Howe, 16471 Sapphire Street, stated he has watched things-grow and change and liked <br />some o f' the changes but tonight frustrates him. He suggested the Mayor doesn't listen and most <br />of the Councilmembers have already made up their mind. Mr. Howe stated many people are here <br />that represent a small part of Ramsey but he feels they represent the majority of Ramsey, <br />especially those who live in the country. He stated he does not know if the Council has ever <br />heard of' impeachment. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec asked Mr. Howe to not ever threaten one of the Councilmembers and stated he <br />resents what Mr. Howe said for every elected official there is. He asked Mr. Howe to stick to the <br />issues. Mayor Gamec stated elected officials work hard and have many important decisions to <br />make so it is not the easiest job. <br /> <br />Mr. }lowell stated he is unhappy with the direction this is going because he would like to <br />continue to see deer, the rural nature, and development in an orderly fashion rather than a spot <br />here and there. He urged the Council to go back to the MUSA line and develop according to <br />what was established. He stated he was told that development Wouldn't affect his property until <br />2040 and then 2020 and now 2005. <br /> <br />Mr. John Peterson, 16735 Nowthen Boulevard, stated his company is Oakwood Land <br />Development and makes a living building neighborhoods. He noted in the past there were <br />people, much like him, doing what he's doing tonight for each of these people before they moved <br />'into their homes. This struggle, honorable people disagreeing on how development should move <br />/brward, is happening all around the metro area on the developing ring. Mr. Peterson advised <br />that one million more people are coming into the market in the next 30 years in our community. <br />Hc and his partners are one of many who work to create neighbors for those people to raise their <br />families and have their family events. Mr. Peterson stated he has been building neighborhoods in <br />Ramsey for 20 years. <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson stated it would be impossible to counteract each point mentioned tonight but he has <br />philosophically worked with the neighborhood and laid out every idea. He noted this application <br />is at the concept stage and is far below the maximum density allowed. Mr. Peterson pointed out <br />that it is a common phenomena in Ramsey to have collector streets with different kinds of <br />neighborhoods in pockets along the collector streets. Variolite Street is a perfect example. Mr. <br />Peterson stated Traprock is a beautiful development with large lots, nice homesl and pretty much <br />self contained. He would like to build just north of Traprock on the Gun Club property and <br />create a nice neighborhood that is somewhat self-contained except the issue of the connector.
