To <br />raise awareness about domestic violence in our community, the City of Ramsey is again <br />partnering with Rachel Circle – a domestic violence awareness social justice group from Zion <br />Lutheran Church - to form a Purple Lights Initiative. The purpose of the Purple Lights Initiative <br />is to spark community conversation, mourn those who have died due to violence, celebrate <br />survivors and connect victims to helpful resources. The City of Ramsey is hiring for the following positions: <br /> Rink Attendants – Temporary 10-week positions starting 12/17/2021. Rate of pay is <br />$10.33 per hour. Maintain the warming houses during the skating season through <br />responsible, safety-minded work. Must be 16 years old by 12/09/2021. These positions <br />are open until 11:59 pm on Tuesday, November 9, 2021. <br /> Snow Plow Drivers – Temporary positions starting 10/27/2021. Rate of pay is $13.00 <br />per hour. Assist the Public Works Department with cul-de-sac routes using one of the <br />City’s 1-ton pick-up trucks on an as-needed bases through the winter months. These <br />positions are open until 11:59 pm on Sunday, October 10, 2021. Absentee voting began Friday, September 17 for school district <br />elections in ISD 11, 14, and 16, as well as for municipal elections in Circle Pines & Lino Lakes. <br />The in-person absentee voting location for all Anoka County voters with an election this fall is the <br />Anoka County Government Center. Circle Pines & Lino Lakes voters can also choose to go to <br />their city hall. More information on absentee voting is available at <br />(https://www.anokacounty.us/224/Vote-Early) or Anoka County Elections at 763-324-1300. <br /> <br />Loral I Armstrong Delaney passes away at age 83. On Sunday, September 19, legendary <br />trapshooter, dog trainer and businesswoman Loral I Armstrong Delaney passed away at the age of <br />83 after a two-year battle with cancer. The Ramsey community mourns the loss of one of the <br />world's most accomplished women professional shooters. <br /> <br />Save the Date: <br /> Fall Recycling Day Event. Church invites the community to celebrate Nations for <br />Christ this Saturday, September 25, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the church - 6760 Highway <br />10 in Ramsey. Experience several nationality's traditional dishes, folklore music and <br />dance! Note: The City of Ramsey allows local organizations to promote information <br />about their community events to the public by utilizing the City's various media channels. <br />The event must meet our Community Event Promotion Policy standards. <br /> Open Enrollment for City of Ramsey Employees. The City is having its open enrollment <br />meetings the afternoon of Thursday, October 14th for face-to-face meetings; details to <br />follow. If you are unable to attend one of the meetings, stay tuned for an alternative date. <br />Police Officers: Police Department open enrollment meetings will be held at a time that is <br />convenient for you – date and time to be announced. <br /> <br />
