<br />Councilmember Woestehoff introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #21-262 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO APPROVE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT FOR DEDICATED DWI <br />ENFORCEMENT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />the city of Ramsey is within Anoka County, which has been <br />identified as one of the top fifteen Minnesota counties for impaired driving fatalities; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br />, the city of Ramsey Police Department applied for, and has been awarded, a <br />grant from the Minnesota Department of Public Safety - Office of Traffic Safety for additional <br />funding for impaired driving enforcement; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br />, the safety of Ramsey residents and the motoring public is improved by <br />additional enforcement and education of impaired driving. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) The city council adopt resolution #21-262, authorizing The Ramsey Police Department to <br />enter into a grant agreement with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, for the DWI <br />Officer grant during the period from October 1, 2021, through September 30, 2022. <br /> <br />2) The Chief of Police is hereby authorized to execute such agreements and amendments as <br />are necessary to implement the project on behalf of the City of Ramsey and its Police <br />Department and to be the fiscal agent and administer the grant. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Musgrove, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Kuzma <br /> Councilmember Woestehoff <br /> Councilmember Musgrove <br /> Councilmember Howell <br /> Councilmember Heineman <br /> Councilmember Riley <br /> Councilmember Specht <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> None <br /> <br /> <br />
