COMMENTS & RESPONSES

ColYimeBtor ;

Phyllis Hanson, Manager, Planning and Technical Assistance
Metropolitan Council

Comment Date : July 14, 2005

Thank you for your response regarding the Brookfield Addition Environmental Assessment Worksheet.

Item 8: Permits and Approvals Required
The reference to a metropolitan urban service area (MUSA) extension and a comprehensive plan
amendment should not have been included in Item 8.

Item 13: Water Use
The design average water use of 150 gallons per person per day is a conservative design value for
planning purposes. As you suggested, the City will be consistent with the July 2004 Comprehensive
water System Study. In addition, the City will promote reduced lawn watering, drought tolerant
landscaping and appropriate site preparation in order to reduce water use.

Item 17: Water Quality, Surface Water Runoff
The City will look for opportunities to incorporate low impact development features, such as rain gardens,
lo help treat runoff and recharge the groundwater table.
