Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case/424: <br /> <br />Proposed Ordinance to Amend the Licensing and Permits Section of City <br />Code <br /> <br />('Jommunity Development Director Trudgeon advised the Building Official and Building Permit <br />Technician have been reviewing the contractors licensing portion of the City Code with the City <br />Clerk and suggest some basic housekeeping language changes. He explained under the current <br />City Code, the Zoning Officer is the "authorized" individual responsible for issuing building <br />permits to individuals or firms for any construction work to be performed within the City. This <br />authorization, by State Code, should be conducted by the Building Official. In addition, the <br />current City Code states that applications for City Contractor license shall be submitted to the <br />Zoning Officer for approval, and then forwarded to the City Clerk for processing. With this <br />proposed change, however, these applications would be reviewed and issued by the Building <br />Official and staff. He advised staff is recommending introduction of the proposed ordinance <br />relating to the contractors licensing portion of the City Code. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Jeffrey, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to introduce the <br />ordinance amending Section 7.03 (Contractors). <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec directed staff to check into the location for dumping of the City's septic systems <br />and tess pool pumping. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case/425: Consider Authorization to Hire an Associate Planner <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman reviewed that on June 9, 2005 the City's Associate Planner resigned. <br />Prior to the Associate Planner leaving her position staff was given authorization to begin the <br />treatment process for a replacement Associate Planner. The position was advertised and eleven <br />interviews were conducted. Staff is recommending Breanne Dalnes for the Associate Planner <br />position at an hourly wage of $21.80, plus benefits. The results of Ms. Dalne's criminal and <br />driver's license background checks, reference checks, and pre-employment physical and drug <br />screen were satisfactory. With City Council approval, Ms. Dalne's will begin employment on <br />August 1,2005. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to adopt Resolution #05- <br />07-245 authorizing the hiring of Breanne Dalnes for the Associate Planner position at a starting <br />wage of $21.80 per hour, plus benefits. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
