PRESENTATION: VISIT MINNEAPOLIS NORTH, BY BOB MUSL PRESENTATION
OF CONTRIBUTION TO 2005 HAPPY DAYS FESTIVAL

Bob Musl of Visit Minneapolis North stated Visit Minneapolis North was approached for
support of Ramsey's Happy Days festival, and he would like to provide the Council with
information about the organization. He stated Visit Minneapolis North is a non-profit, marketing
organization that primarily represents the north metro area. Of this revenue,
5% goes to the city for their general fund, and the rest goes to Visit Minneapolis North. The
work of Visit Minneapolis North involves such things as trade shows, general tourism, and direct
sales for the cities they work with. They also produce a guide and a meeting planner resource
guide. Itc explained the cities that work with Visit Minneapolis North receive $2,000 towards a
local festival, and Visit Minneapolis North also contributes towards the local Chamber of
Commerce. The organization is governed by a 30 member Board of Directors. He explained the
first step would be to approach Comfort Suites and determine if they may want to pursue this
relationship. He stated as a new resident of Ramsey, it is very exciting to see what is going on in
the City. He stated Visit Minneapolis North has presented the City with a $500 check towards
the Happy Days festival.
