Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #21-246 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHANGE ORDER NO.1 FOR TIGER STREET <br />RECONSTRUCTION, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #21-02 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey proposes to reconstruct Tiger Street between Armstrong <br />Boulevard and 173' Avenue in 2021 as identified in the 2021-2030 Capital Improvement Program; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council resolution #20-259, adopted November 10, 2020, the City <br />Council accepted the quotes of Bolton & Menk, Inc. to provide topographic survey services, and Chosen <br />Valley Testing for the geotechnical evaluation services required to design and prepare plans and <br />specifications for said improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, City Staff has received the topographic survey and geotechnical evaluations and has <br />the capacity to prepare plans and specifications for improvement project #21-02, Tiger Street <br />Reconstruction; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council resolution #21-009, adopted January 12, 2021, the <br />City Engineer has prepared plans and specifications for the purpose of advertising for bids for the same <br />improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council resolution #21-085, adopted April 13, 2021, the <br />City Council approved final plans and specifications as prepared by the City Engineer and authorized <br />advertisement for bids for said improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, The City Administrator is hereby authorized to execute the proposal from <br />Bolton & Menk, Inc. to provide construction staking services for said improvements in a total <br />not -to -exceed amount of $4,680 for the project; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council resolution #21-139 adopted May 25, 2021, the <br />bid of North Valley, Inc., of Nowthen, Minnesota, in the amount of $224,552.19, for the construction of <br />said improvements was accepted, and the Mayor and City Administrator were authorized and directed to <br />enter into a contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvements for and on behalf of the <br />City of Ramsey; and <br />WHEREAS, Change Order No.1 in the amount of $50,638.69 will allow for the removal of <br />1093 cubic yards of unsuitable materials from the road core which were discovered during construction <br />and placement of 1093 cubic yards of select granular material, the quantities of which were significantly <br />greater than the approved plans and specifications accounted for. <br />
