Purpose/Background: Purpose/Background: The purpose of this case is to seek authorization to purchase a used floor sweeper/scrubber for the new PW Facility. At the August loth council meeting, staff requested authorization to purchase a new floor sweeper/scrubber through the State Contract at the price of $ 62,640.66. Council rejected staff recommendation and suggested looking at used equipment with a not to exceed price of $43,000.00 Notification: N/A Time Frame/Observations/Alternatives: 10 minutes Staff searched the internet for used equipment and found several units under $43,000.00, but most were out of state and were sold "as is" with no warranty coverage. Staff contacted the local Tennant sales representative and located a 2014 machine with 1148 hours that was recently traded -in and is currently going through the factory refurbishing process. This unit comes with a limited warranty of 9 months on parts and 90 days on labor. The asking price is slightly higher that the council authorized not to exceed price, but at $44,550.00 staff feels this is the highest quality, used machine, we will find in that price range. Also, this is a local machine, so there won't be any shipping charges.
